Tucker Carlson Goes on Vitriolic, Transphobic Rant Over Dr. Levine

Conservative television host Tucker Carlson has continued his ongoing fight against trans people in a new set of comments he’s made on his show. The vitriol was directed toward the Biden administration and the recent history-making appointment of Dr. Rachel Levine as a four-star admiral.
In the segment, Carlson was slamming the Biden administration overall, critiquing recent videos being put out as signs that the administration had lost touch with reality. Among the clips was one featuring footage of Vice President Kamala Harris’s surprise birthday celebration.
Toward the end of the rant, he turned his attention to Levine, who made U.S. history when she was confirmed as an assistant secretary in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Earlier this week she made history again, being named a four-star admiral.
“Behind the heavily guarded walls of the White House everyone has gone crazy,” Carlson said. “Just this week, the Biden administration declared that a biological man who wears a dress is now a female admiral. And then they sent that brave four-star female admiral out to give a speech that read like something out of a D-Day documentary.”
Carlson played a clip of Levine recognizing her position as the first female four-star officer of the U.S. Public Health Service commissioned corps. Levine is also the first out trans four-star admiral in U.S history. Carlson called it all “ridiculous.”
“You have to ask yourself how long will it be before Joe Biden appoints his horse to the Supreme Court,” Carlson said. “And when he inevitably does that how long will it be before CNN informs us ‘this is a watershed moment for equine rights.’ Don’t you dare laugh, that would be a hate crime.”
Carlson has long nursed and openly pronounced a hate for trans folks. Earlier this year, The Lady and the Dale director Zachary Drucker traced this hate back to his childhood: Carlson’s father, Dick Carlson, was openly transphobic, outing Renee Richards, and purposefully misgendering others like Liz Carmichael in his own reporting. At one point, he even compared Carmichael to Jeffrey Dahmer, the serial killer.
“Liz Carmichael is the trans bogeyman of Tucker Carlson’s childhood,” Drucker told Out. “And just to extrapolate a little bit, Tucker Carlson thinks that his father is heroic. And his heroic father was only afraid of one person, who happened to be trans.”
