Help Mobilize Pro-Equality Voters at HRC’s Virtual Events
For volunteers who want to help defeat Donald Trump and elect pro-equality candidates in a time when large in-person gatherings are inadvisable, the Human Rights Campaign has scheduled a series of online events next week.
The HRC has planned a five-day, seven-state “virtual bus tour” of Zoom events for volunteers. Each event will operate differently, but all will center on volunteers taking action to contact voters and tell them what’s at stake in 2020. HRC President Alphonso David will join all the events.
The events will be held Monday, July 27, for New York; Tuesday, July 28, for Wisconsin; Wednesday, July 29, for Michigan and Pennsylvania; Thursday, July 30, for Arizona, Ohio, and a second one for Michigan; and Friday, July 31, and subsequent Fridays for Nevada. “Now, with just over 100 days left until Election Day, we cannot rest until Donald Trump is out of office,” David told The Advocate. “The Human Rights Campaign and our volunteers have already been hard at work contacting voters in critical states across the country. This bus tour will allow us to deepen our voter engagement in these critical states. We’ll speak directly to Equality Voters across the Northeast, the Rust Belt, and the Sun Belt — the voters who will decide this election — about how together, united, we can and will defeat Donald Trump and his anti-LGBTQ allies.”
