Gay Icon Lucy Lawless Chakrams Kevin Sorbo Over Antifa Tweet

Xena gave an epic Twitter smackdown to Hercules.
Lucy Lawless, who portrayed the warrior princess on the cult fantasy series, slammed her former costar Kevin Sorbo for promoting an Antifa conspiracy theory on social media.
Sorbo, the star of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, had responded to a tweet from Rogan O’Handley, which promoted the false claim that it was radical liberal protesters who had incited the Wednesday riot at the U.S. Capitol.
“Do these look like Trump supporters?” O’Handley tweeted. “Or Leftist agitators disguised as Trump supporters…”
Sorbo, an ardent supporter of President Trump, replied, “They don’t look like patriots to me…”
In response, Lawless, upon seeing the conspiracy theory, sent her chakram flying through the digital battleground.
“No, Peanut. They are not Patriots,” she tweeted Thursday. “They are your flying monkeys, homegrown terrorists, QAnon actors. They are the douchebags that go out and do the evil bidding of people like you who like to wind them up like toys and let them do their worst.”

Lawless is correct. The domestic terrorists who stormed the capitol building were supporters of the president, whose speech had incited them to violence earlier in the day. The tumult was in response to Trump’s baseless allegations that the presidential election had been rigged to favor Democratic winner Joe Biden.
Twitter also flagged O’Handley’s tweet, stating, “There is no evidence so far to prove that Antifa activists were part of the mob that entered the building on Wednesday, according to fact-checkers from Snopes, PolitiFact, BuzzFeed News and other organizations.”
Lawless starred in Xena: Warrior Princess from 1995 to 2001, in which she portrayed a warrior fighting the forces of evil in the universe of Greek mythology. The actress garnered a large queer fan base for the character’s close relationship with her partner in arms, Gabrielle; Lawless later confirmed that, while the relationship was implicit, the pair were indeed a romantic couple.
